Happy New Year from the YAC team!
We hope you are sticking to your new year’s resolutions and thinking
about your FAFSA. The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (also known as
FAFSA) is a form that can be filled out annually for perspective and current
students to determine their eligibility for student financial aid (including
the Pell Grant, Federal student loans and Federal Work-Study). Federal Student
Aid, a part of the U.S. Department of Education, is the largest provider of
student financial aid in the nation; offering more than $150 billion each year
to help millions of students pay for higher education.
The U.S. Department of Education accepts applications beginning January 1
of each year for the upcoming academic year. Students are advised to submit a
FAFSA as early as possible for consideration for maximum financial assistance.
FAFSAs can be filled out electronically at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
