Stay Healthy



Obesity is defined as abnormal or excessive fat accumulation that may impair health. It’s most commonly caused by a combination of excessive food intake, lack of physical activity, and your genetics. In other words if we aren’t active as teens and more conscious about the food we eat, we may become overweight which is most likely to cause heart attack, stroke, high blood pressure, cancer, breathing problems, and other numerous conditions.

Being overweight can also do damage to your self-esteem due to the judgmental world we live in. Therefore, the importance of being physically active and having a healthy diet is essential to ensure a long fit and happier life. Having a healthy lifestyle sharpens your mind, which allows you to stay alert, focused in school, and even out your mood swings.

There are ways we can work on becoming healthier through our diets, such as cutting down on processed foods. Processed food causes ones blood sugar to go up and down. Avoid sugary drinks like sodas and some juices. Water is the best choice you can make when selecting a beverage. Pass on fast food restaurants this food isn’t good for you based on how it is prepared. Home cooked meals are best to eat; they are also a nice way to spend time with family after a long day. Remember to have moderation when deciding on how much to eat.

You can take part in actives such as football, cheerleading, dancing, baseball, biking, jogging, or even a few sit-ups daily. There are lots of things you can do to maintain a healthy lifestyle. So just remember to stay active and be smart about what you decide to put into your diet, so that you can be healthier in life.
